Book Description:
After Tommy dies, Maureen imagines that the years of physical and mental abuse are over. But just six months later, while looking for the Halloween decorations in the attic, Maureen finds a gift-wrapped GPS with her name on the box: an early birthday present from her late husband. When the voice from the machine starts giving her sinister directions, she learns that sometimes the dead are restless… and she’s locked in a battle not just for her life, but for her soul. By philly author Jennifer Weiner !
Book Description:
Sister, Let Me Tell ‘Ya is the engaging and heart-wrenching story of Bernadette, a young African-American woman who aspires to live her dream of becoming an author.
Raised by two loving parents, Bernadette appreciates the advantages she has had in life and seeks to help other young people who have not had the firm grounding she was blessed with. She tries to stay focused on her goals, but when the first man she falls in love with turns out to be a part of the very lifestyle she is struggling against, she finds herself torn between her ideals and good judgment and her feelings for Rick.
A developing relationship with Tony, a lifelong friend, seems to offer positive support, but along the way Bernadette fails to heed some of her own best advice: to be true to herself and strong within herself before seeking to love another.
Sister, Let Me Tell ‘Ya encourages readers to consider the ramification of Bernadette’s choices and to consider how we might apply those lessons in our own lives. The author’s powerful message strengthens her appealing and insightful novel.
Poem :
Help me in my weakest hour..
Keep me strong..
I have faith , hope and …
… Confidence in you , God..
I choose you as my faithful mate..
To provide for my every need..
I choose you , to strengthen..
My mind, body and soul..
I choose you, LORD as..
My SAVIOR, at no cost.
