{June 17, 2013}   Poetry Awareness Week

” MISSING YOU, WHY WHY WHY   “

You think it’s not a big deal
You’ve been driving several years
But have you really thought about
The cause of many tears

What if…….for just an instance
Your eyes have left the road
Your hands were busy TEXTING
And your mind was in THAT mode

It only takes a second
To make a fatal mistake
And once that it has happened
The consequences are hard to take

You say that it won’t happen to me
I’m ALWAYS in control
But what about the time it did
Was it worth the life you stole?

So keep your phone out of arms reach
Until you’ve reached your destination
YOU are responsible for your actions
Driving deserves your concentration

Must it always take disaster?
To open up our eyes
Please teach by your example
Before more of America dies….

” BE   THANKFUL “

Be thankful for what you have.

If  you concentrate on the blessing ,inner peace you will find.

No one who achieves success does  so  without the help of others.

The wise and confident acknowledge this help with gratitude.

Blessed are those that can give without remembering and receive without forgetting.

Know one is perfect, but let us all join together to create a cleaner  world.  The earth is important . What can we do to keep our earth clean ?  Here is a poem written by a eight  year old student for earth day.

Don’t Litter
By Veronica ~ 8 years old

We all litter every day in different ways.
If we keep littering our earth will be a big trash bag.
Let’s put out a call.
Most people don’t care.
My class would not dare !
Once my class put up a sign.
It said, “Please don’t litter.  The Earth is mine.”.
Our landfills are overflowing.
Every day they are growing.
We see it making all kinds of motions.
We can try to stop this now, but how  ?

Put your trash in the can !

I’ve LEARNED # 2

I’ve Learned that you can do something in an instant
that will give you heartache for life .
I’ve Learned that it’s taking me a long time to
become the person I am now.
I’ve Learned that the best way to help a teenager
with their problems is to Listen .
I’ve learned that regardless of how
hot a relationship is at first.
The passion fades and it better be something to
take it’s place ( love ) .
I’ve learned that I will never be
my own person, if I continue to care what others think of me .
I’ve learned that sometime you have to consider the people
you love needs over your owns .
I’ve learned that sometimes when I’m angry I have the
right to be angry but that doesn’t give me the right to be cold hearted.
I’ve learned that real love continue to grow even over the
longest of time.
I’ve learned about me over time through life hard lessons
and I’m still learning.

{April 11, 2013}   Poetry Pick For The Week !

I CHOSE TO LOOK THE OTHER WAY !
I could have saved a life that day,
But I chose to look the other way.
It wasn’t
that I didn’t care,
I had the time, and I was there.
But I didn’t want to seem a fool,
The chances didn’t
seem that bad,
To call 911, and say child abduction.
So I shook my head and walked on by,
And with that act, I let the boy die.
I could have saved a life that day,
But I chose to look the other way.
Now every time I see his mother,
I’ll know I should have saved his life.
That guilt is some
thing I must bear,
But it isn’t something you need to share,
If you see a risk that others take,
That puts their health or life at stake.
The question asked, or thing you say,
Could help them live another day.
If you see a risk
and walk away,
Then I hope you never have to say,
I could have saved a life that day,
But I chose to look the other way.

{March 17, 2013}   Support Our Soldiers Poem !

Come Home

Come home my soldier
Come home to me
Come home my soldier
I miss you terribly

I need you right here beside me
My soldier
I need you right here with me
Come home my soldier
Come home to me

Be safe my love
Be safe ’till you come home
Be safe my love
I couldn’t handle it
If you left me all alone

Welcome home my love
Welcome home to me
You’re safe now my love
From the dangers of the world
Your safe now my soldier
In the arms of the lord

I miss you my love
Why did you leave me all alone
I miss you my love
I miss you more than you’ll ever know

LESSON LEARNED  !

It has been said that life is the most patient teacher.

You will be presented with the same experience over and over until you learn the best way to deal with the situation.

This is not because life is cruel. Rather, it is because things have a way of coming back to haunt us when we don’t deal with them.

One form of intelligence is the ability to learn from mistakes.

When you are presented with a painful experience, take the time to think about how you can avoid it in the future.

This is an example of a lesson learned.

In Life

In life there are people that will hurt us and cause us pain,
but we must learn to forgive and forget and not hold grudges  for us to heal and ,leave them behind.
In life there are mistakes we will make,
but we must learn from our wrongs and grow from them.In life there are regrets we will have to live with,
but we must learn to leave the past behind and realize it is something we can’t change. In life there are people we will loose forever and can’t have back,
but we must learn to let go & move on.

In life there are going to be obstacles that will cause interference,
but we must learn to overcome these challenges and grow stronger.

In life there are fears that will hold us back from what we want,
but we must learn to fight them with the courage from within.

God holds our lives in his hands. He holds the key to our future.
Only he knows our fate.

He see’s everything and knows everything.
Everything in life really does happen for a reason: “God’s Reason“.

Show your support by reading this poem or forwarding this posting. Of  all crimes committed against a person, rape is the one that leaves a person feeling the most violated. A rape victim is often left with the feeling that a part of them has been torn apart. Writing down their express feeling in a poem, is away to release angry, trauma and begin the healing survivor process. Please read one of the rape victim’s poem for awareness. Hope you will go to (http://www.aftersilence.org/ ) to show your support, thank you

” I Was a Child “

No, I won’t stay silent anymore.
No, I’m not your good little girl, your princess, your sunshine.
No, it isn’t my responsibility to save your marriage,
To hold the family together, to make you happy.
No, I’m not responsible that you and mum slept in separate beds,
That your family isn’t perfect.
No, it wasn’t nice or fun.
No, it wasn’t OK with me and I didn’t enjoy it.
No, your money won’t make it all better,
Your gifts don’t compensate me.
No, I won’t do anything for your love,
Your approval, your affection.
No, I won’t be blamed or lose respect if I tell what happened.
No, the sky won’t cave in and I won’t be left alone.
No, I won’t deny that it ever happened,
Suppress my feelings or play happy families.
No, I wasn’t horrible or evil.
No, I didn’t deserve it.
I was a child.
