Philly Book Picks For The Week ( 94) !

I recommend this book to all sci-fi fans. I couldn’t wait to read the book on aliens encounters. I am not usually a huge fan of science fiction, but I found this book intriguing. The story line was good and kept my interest.  I enjoyed how the author writes, the language is descriptive and it has an engaging flow to it. The characters seem real and, I am very much looking forward to reading more of the writer books.

She wanted to introduce them to the far off realms she dreamed of as a child. Kim lives in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia with her husband and a library filled with books. She loves to take pictures for inspiration and paints in her spare time to relax.

An estimated one in every three women worldwide experiences violence, with rates reaching as high as 70 percent in some countries. There is NO races base, just violence’s, rage, rape and domestic abuse. This poem is posted to bring AWARENESS!

 

Because I can

 

To my Husband

Why did you hurt me?

When you promised to love me!

What did I do to deserve the pain you gave me?

You promised to honor and cherish me!

Every punch, kick was like a stone shattering glass

Chips of my love for you, falling away with every strike!

You said you did it “because you could”

Why didn’t we have a normal relationship?

Rather than you controlling me all the time

I gave you my all, my everything

In return you would slap, punch, kick, rape or threaten to kill me!

Why? I asked you?

You said “Because you Could”

You would say “It was all my fault”

I annoyed you therefore I should take the consequences

Why did you do that

“Because you could”

You held a knife to my throat and laugh

Why? Because you could

You would rape and bugger me

You would call me a whore, bitch, liar and fat

This isn’t love!

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies. 
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model‘s size 
But when I start to tell them, 
They think I’m telling lies. 
I say, 
It’s in the reach of my arms 
The span of my hips, 
The stride of my step, 
The curl of my lips. 
I’m a woman 
Phenomenally.

I walk into a room 
Just as cool as you please, 
And to a man, 
The fellows stand or 
Fall down on their knees. 
Then they swarm around me, 
A hive of honey bees.
