At the end of 2012, 1.7 million American service members had served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Forty-three percent of active duty service members have children’s. How will the children of a military service member left behind, cope with the absence of a military parent deployed. Author Kristin Ayyar book helps kids handle the difficulties of deployed parent, sadness, anger, fear, anxiety, and loneliness. Countdown ’til Daddy Comes Home is made into an entertaining educational children’s book. That I strongly recommend, if you have a family member in the military. This is a great reading book with a lot of positive story-lines, to assure kids that they are not alone in this difficult separation time.

EIGHTEEN
Eighteen, what does that really mean.
Now that I am eighteen,
I can make my own rules.
Able to date now,
Make my own money.
Pay my own bills.
Come and go when I please.
Grown is what I am now.
Able to vote & say know.
My mom always rebutted with the comment.
Girl, coming of age means.
Many things, and now you are about to find out.
Remember my final words: It takes.
A person a long time to know where, she came from and where she is going.
Age is just a number.
You are defined by your actions and your morals.
