At the end of 2012, 1.7 million American service members had served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Forty-three percent of active duty service members have children’s. How will the children of a military service member left behind, cope with the absence of a military parent deployed. Author Kristin Ayyar book helps kids  handle the difficulties of deployed parent, sadness, anger, fear, anxiety, and loneliness. Countdown ’til Daddy Comes Home is made into an entertaining educational children’s book.  That I strongly recommend, if you have a family member in the military. This is a great reading book with a lot of positive story-lines, to assure kids that they are not alone in this difficult separation time.

Life Lessons

You may have thought I didn’t see,
Or that I hadn’t heard,
Life lessons that you taught to me,
But I got every word.Perhaps you thought I missed it all,
And that we’d grow apart,
But Dad, I picked up everything,
It’s written on my heart.Without you, Dad, I wouldn’t be
The (woman)(man) I am today;
You built a strong foundation
No one can take away.I’ve grown up with your values,
And I’m very glad I did;
So here’s to you, dear father,
From your forever grateful kid.

Author Bio : Jeff Depalma is a Certified Identity Protection Advisor, entrepreneur and author.

In a roundabout way, his successful 15 year run in the mortgage business lead Jeff to his current position as a consumer advocate for Identity protection. As Jeff was working his way up to branch owner, it didn’t take long to see how credit was built and sometimes, devastatingly destroyed. While performing his various duties such as originating mortgages, Jeff came into contact with many clients whose lives had been turned upside down by the growing epidemic of identity theft. A combination of vocational burnout and an innate drive to right these injustices culminated in a paradigm shift.

A few months after leaving the mortgage business for good, Jeff got his Identity Protection Advisor Certification. He then authored a popular e-Book on identity protection. “How to Protect Yourself from identity Thieves during the Holidays” is Jeff’s first e-Book on the subject and is available through http://www.holidayidentitytips .com

What Is A Dad ( FATHER’S DAY ) ?

A dad is someone who
wants to catch you before you fall
but instead picks you up,
brushes you off,
and lets you try again.

A dad is someone who
wants to keep you from making mistakes
but instead lets you find your own way,
even though his heart breaks in silence
when you get hurt.

A dad is someone who
holds you when you cry,
scolds you when you break the rules,
shines with pride when you succeed,
and has faith in you even when you fail…

{January 18, 2012}   Book Pick For The WEEK !

Why so many people are terrible with their  own money !
The Psychology of Wealth by psychotherapist Charles Richards attempts to explain how, through consciously understanding our relationship with money, we can become prosperous. This book is written from a psychologist’s point of view and puts change in ones behavior squarely on the individual.Richards defines the psychology of wealth as a sense of comfort and control in ones relationship with money. How individuals spend/borrow money is a complex issue and is a result of many factors…this book illustrates how to become conscious of your spending/borrowing habits and to act accordingly.

It was the 2008 economic crises that got the author thinking about money…he interviewed many successful people in different careers to help him understand what common qualities prosperous people possess. People who possess the “Psychology of Wealth” have the following attributes:
Self esteem
Responsibility
Determination
Achievement

Furthermore, Richards blames “unconscious spending” and behaving inconsistently for getting so many people in trouble financially.

                                JUST FOR TODAY

Every Sunday , I will be thankful I have you ( son ) .

Just for this evening I will pray for the ,

Single mother’s and father’s.

Who don’t have help raising their childrens.

I will ask god to forgive the grown men and women,

who look down on the homeless.

I will remember to always be thankful for my blessing.

Just for this evening, I will not shop  for a new out-fit but.

Take that money and give it to a women shelter.

Just  IMAGINE  if everyone had a ,

JUST FOR TODAY  .

{October 25, 2011}   Poetry Pick For The WEEK !

                  EIGHTEEN

Eighteen, what does that really mean.

Now that I am eighteen,

I can make my own rules.

Able to date now,

Make my own money.

Pay my own bills.

Come and go when I please.

Grown is what I am now.

Able to vote & say know.

My mom always rebutted with the comment.

Girl, coming of age means.

Many things, and now you are about to find out.

Remember my final words: It takes.

A person a long time to know where, she came from and where she is going.

Age is just a number.

You are defined by your actions and your morals.
