Book Description

Since 1227, finding the Tomb of Genghis Khan has been the obsession of tyrants, adventurers and treasure hunters.
It is a Genghis Khan fact that, looking at a map today, he had conquered a geographic area which would include 30 countries and 3+ billion people.
The legend says that, in order to keep his tomb’s location secret, Genghis Khan slaughtered hundreds if not thousands of his captives after they had been forced to dig his burial site. He had amassed untold wealth with enormous quantities of jewels, gold and silver from his conquests that are believed to be buried with him.
So why hasn’t his crypt been found in almost eight hundred years?
In The Guardian of Genghis Khan’s Tomb, the Great Conqueror extracts a sacred oath from a special advisor. It binds both this trusted counselor and his family forever to protect the tomb and the most immense treasure ever known.
Now, in a remote Asian river valley, a beautiful English scientist’s chance discovery of an ancient artifact tied directly to Genghis Khan ignites a furious race among China, Russia and the United States to find that crypt. The stakes are huge, putting the young woman along with her American sponsor at the center of the confrontation.
Can The Guardian of Genghis Khan’s Tomb manage to keep the gravesite safe and his beloved country, a fledgling democracy, from being overrun? Or will war break out between the world’s Superpowers? Michael B. Hickland’s e-novel is a fast paced historical fiction thriller full of turns and twists.

{May 15, 2013}   Amanda knox ;Memoir

I ‘ve followed the live television broadcast of the Amanda Knox trail and, wonder about the whole story. There is always two sides to a story . For four years, Amanda Knox felt silenced. Italian prosecutors, who had accused her (and two accomplices) of murdering her roommate, called her the devil. The Italian press called her “angel faced killer.” Knox’s only rebuttals came during those brief moments of addressing the court. Even after Knox was acquitted in 2011 and allowed to return home to Seattle—after nearly four years in prison—she stayed voluntarily silent. Now, in Waiting to Be Heard, she is finally telling her side of the story.

Book Description:

A young woman’s soul-baring account of a nightmare turned real, of unimaginable horror and the miscarriage of justice that ensued, and, ultimately, of fortitude in the face of overwhelming adversity, Waiting to Be Heard is a memoir unlike any you have ever read. In November 2007, Amanda Knox was twenty years old and had been studying abroad in Perugia, Italy, for only a few weeks when her friend and roommate, a young English student named Meredith Kercher, was brutally murdered. The investigation made headlines around the world, and Amanda’s arrest placed her at the center of a media firestorm. Young, naïve, grieving at the horrifying death of her friend, and with little more than basic knowledge of the Italian language, she was subjected to harsh interrogations during which she struggled to understand the police and to make her own words understood. The subsequent trial exposed Amanda to international scrutiny and speculation, and she became a tabloid staple. In 2009, after an extremely controversial trial, she was wrongly convicted of murder. But in October 2011, after Amanda had spent four years in an Italian prison, and following a lengthy appeals process, the conviction was overturned. Amanda immediately flew home to the United States.

I recommend this book to all sci-fi fans. I couldn’t wait to read the book on aliens encounters. I am not usually a huge fan of science fiction, but I found this book intriguing. The story line was good and kept my interest.  I enjoyed how the author writes, the language is descriptive and it has an engaging flow to it. The characters seem real and, I am very much looking forward to reading more of the writer books.

Know one is perfect, but let us all join together to create a cleaner  world.  The earth is important . What can we do to keep our earth clean ?  Here is a poem written by a eight  year old student for earth day.

Don’t Litter
By Veronica ~ 8 years old

We all litter every day in different ways.
If we keep littering our earth will be a big trash bag.
Let’s put out a call.
Most people don’t care.
My class would not dare !
Once my class put up a sign.
It said, “Please don’t litter.  The Earth is mine.”.
Our landfills are overflowing.
Every day they are growing.
We see it making all kinds of motions.
We can try to stop this now, but how  ?

Put your trash in the can !

I’ve LEARNED # 2

I’ve Learned that you can do something in an instant
that will give you heartache for life .
I’ve Learned that it’s taking me a long time to
become the person I am now.
I’ve Learned that the best way to help a teenager
with their problems is to Listen .
I’ve learned that regardless of how
hot a relationship is at first.
The passion fades and it better be something to
take it’s place ( love ) .
I’ve learned that I will never be
my own person, if I continue to care what others think of me .
I’ve learned that sometime you have to consider the people
you love needs over your owns .
I’ve learned that sometimes when I’m angry I have the
right to be angry but that doesn’t give me the right to be cold hearted.
I’ve learned that real love continue to grow even over the
longest of time.
I’ve learned about me over time through life hard lessons
and I’m still learning.

{April 11, 2013}   Poetry Pick For The Week !

I CHOSE TO LOOK THE OTHER WAY !
I could have saved a life that day,
But I chose to look the other way.
It wasn’t
that I didn’t care,
I had the time, and I was there.
But I didn’t want to seem a fool,
The chances didn’t
seem that bad,
To call 911, and say child abduction.
So I shook my head and walked on by,
And with that act, I let the boy die.
I could have saved a life that day,
But I chose to look the other way.
Now every time I see his mother,
I’ll know I should have saved his life.
That guilt is some
thing I must bear,
But it isn’t something you need to share,
If you see a risk that others take,
That puts their health or life at stake.
The question asked, or thing you say,
Could help them live another day.
If you see a risk
and walk away,
Then I hope you never have to say,
I could have saved a life that day,
But I chose to look the other way.
